Wrapped Up in Christmas

Wrapped up in Christmas_Packages2Are you all wrapped up in Christmas?  Are you done with your shopping and all your gifts are beautifully wrapped under your tree?  If not here are a few tips to help you create a beautiful color story by selecting your color palette from your tree.  With some simply wrapped gifts you can create a beautiful look under your tree this year.

First take a look at your tree.  Find one or two colors on your tree; use those to select your wrapping papers & ribbons (or bows).  For our family tree I am creating a monochromatic palette of silvers with a touch of white.  This will blend nicely with the multi-colored display of ornaments and lights we have this year.
wrapped up in Christmas Just like layering with fabrics in your living room, it is important to mix patterns and texture.  Sometimes it is hard to find texture in wrapping paper but ribbons and bows will create the texture you will need.

For my palette this year there are stripes, a polka dot, a shiny silver diagonal stripe & dot plus some silver trees on white.  And maybe a snowflake or two.

I like using ribbon with my packages.  Sometimes just wrapping a strip around the box is all it needs to finish it.  And sometimes it needs a bow.   Either way it adds an extra layer to the look of the gift.  What a simple way to show your friends and family that you care.

I hope you feel inspired to create some beautiful packages with a simple color story and a few added touches.  Then sit back & relax.  Your family and friends will light up as they receive the beautiful packages you have created and you will be all wrapped up in Christmas.
