Exfoliation: Does it really make a difference?
by Suzanne M. Harvey

Is it really necessary to exfoliate your skin? Does it really make a difference? The answer is a resounding YES!!!!!
Exfoliation does really make a difference in the appearance of your skin. And it is an important part of any skin care routine. It’s not just for those rough feet, elbows and knees. Your face needs exfoliation too (just keep it gently on that delicate face of yours). Here are four reasons why it is necessary to exfoliate from head to toe, throughout the year.
#1 – Exfoliation unclogs your pores
Clogged pores are the root cause of so many of our skin issues. They gather oil, dirt, make up and all kinds of yuck from the environment and wreak havoc on our skin. Exfoliation can help to get a deeper clean and keep those pores clear & fresh, reducing breakouts and irritation.
#2 – Exfoliation helps other skin care products absorb into your skin
You’ve spent your hard earned money are great products. You want them to work their best. Exfoliation rids your skin of all the dead cells so that soft supple new skin is ready to absorb all the good products you are applying.
#3 – Exfoliation evens out your skin tone
We all get splotchy & dry from time to time. A light exfoliation can help reveal that new skin and relieve those irritations. Giving you a beautiful even tone & glow.
#4 – Exfoliation increases cell turnover
This is the really the key to all of this. Exfoliation removes those dead skin cells increasing cell turnover revelaing beautiful new skin cells that glow.

So now that you know why you should exfolitate, here are few tips on finding the right exfoliator for you & your skin. My go to is a micrderm asbrasion paste. When looking for an exfoliating paste, look for a product that is a salt & sugar scrub that contains Vitamins A , C, D and E. And little to no fragrance. These added scents can irritate that newly revealed skin. An exfoliator removes dead skin cells on the top layer allowing younger, more vibrant cells to appear on the surface. Hello gorgeous glow!
Other products that can be a great exfoliator and due doule duty are cleansers & toners. Many cleansers have an added exfoliator bead that is gentle enough for every day use. Then you add your paste once or twice a week for the perfect combination. And toner is considered a chemical exfoliate – clearing away dead skin cells & prepping your skin for the other products to be applied. A combination of the right exfoliators will enhance the other skin care products you are using. It will give you brighter glowing skin and best of all it will leave your skin feeling silky smooth.
