Eat These 7 Foods for Better Skin
by Suzanne M. Harvey
As the years go by, we start to notice changes in our body and skin. It is inevitable. But we don’t have to just let it happen. There are steps we can take to look and feel our best at any age. We love the ‘easy’ button options we see on social. But in reality they don’t work the way we want in the end. The best approach for having better skin is a combination of quality products and fueling your body with the right foods. Are you ready to amp up the results from your skincare routine? You can start today. Simply eat these 7 foods for better skin.
#1 – Oranges
Wondering what is so special about oranges? The answer is Vitamin C. You see all the vitamin C serums for your face. Now you can go straight to the source and eat an orange. Vitamin C helps with a brighter, natural glow; evens your skin tone and can help reduce the appearance of dark spots. Plus it can reduce acne breakouts.
#2 – Almonds
You have heard of all the amazing health benefits of almonds but they are also really great for your skin. Almonds contain vitamins A, C & E. A handful a day can help keep your skin hydrated and the vitamin E can help reduce those dark spots. Looking for a product to pair with these foods to tackle dark spots? Try the R+F Multi-Acid Enzyme Peel for extra exfoliation to reveal younger skin cells and that beautiful glow.
#3 – Dark Chocolate
Can we all cheer for chocolate?! Dark chocolate (70%+ cacao is what you are looking for) can be a special treat and give you some great skin benefits too. Our skin is the largest organ in our body. It needs all the love to stay healthy and looking good. Flavanols in high quality chocolate can increase blood flow, improve hydration and protect from the sun. Bonus – it will make you smile and there is nothing better for your skin than to show off your smile to the world.
#4 – Blueberries
These are the anti aging powerhouse of the food world. They are full of antioxidants, vitamin A and retinoids. These little beauties help your body produce collagen! Nothing better for your skin to help it look younger. Blueberries also help reduce inflammation (like breakouts). Make sure to add these into your meals ASAP.
#5 – Avocado
Holy Guacamole! 😉 You love your favorite dip paired with your tortilla chips. But did you know that those healthy fats in avocados also help your skin’s elasticity. And eating your avocados can help with skin firmness too. Time for taco night.
#6 – Raspberries
All the yummy berries are really good for your skin. Raspberries contain vitamin A which helps your skin look brighter and more youthful. Toss these with your morning yogurt or a favorite smoothie recipe and start seeing the benefits. Try this yummy smoothie recipe this week – Ravishing Raspberry Chocolate Smoothie.
#7 – Spinach
This made Popeye strong and it can make your skin look younger by tackling those fine lines and wrinkles. With vitamins A & C, adding spinach to your diet can reduce sun damage too. This is a great addition to your morning smoothie so you don’t even have to taste it :).
Let’s do it!
Take action today and eat these 7 foods for better skin. You can begin simply by adding a few of these to your go to meals. Switch up the lettuce in your salads with some baby spinach. Grab a handful of almonds and a bit of quality dark chocolate for an afternoon snack. Eat your berries in the morning with your favorite yogurt. Small steps are the best way to start. Before you know it your skin will be glowing from the inside out and you will love what you see in the mirror.
